Tai Chi to help Ipswich residents
IPSWICH residents keen to improve their muscle strength and physical stamina while increasing confidence in a relaxing atmosphere, will have the chance to do so with the launch of an eight-week Tai Chi course next month.
Starting on Wednesday, February 10 at 10.30am and repeated at 6.30pm, Imperial tai chi teacher Shane Coop said the ancient Chinese exercise system had been shown to boost the immune system.
“Tai Chi is an ideal exercise for the heart and may be helpful for people who suffer from arthritis and asthma,” Mr Coop said.
“It is a weight bearing exercise so it helps strengthen your bones and reduces the risk of osteoporosis.
“It can help make one calm and reduces stress, yet at the same time it stimulates the brain cells.”
The course will be held at the Catholic Church Hall at 45 Robertson Road, Eastern Heights.
