Get Active with Arthritis

Course Fee: $5

The Get Active with Arthritis workshop is an interactive session that discusses the importance of regular physical activity and will provide participants with practical strategies about how to get started with exercise.

You will learn how to access services in your community to help you get started and ways to find the motivation needed to make the transition into regular physical activity. We will discuss safety concerns when you have a musculoskeletal condition as well as discussing how to overcome any barriers you may face to participating in physical activity.

Early Arthritis Seminar

This Course Fee: $10

This seminar is suitable for people who have been diagnosed in the last two years with inflammatory arthritis (such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis) as well as a support person. It features presentations from a rheumatologist, psychologist or counsellor, exercise professional and someone living with one of these conditions. The seminar aims to improve participants' knowledge of their condition, its impact and the management options available.

This seminar is complemented by the Managing your relationships with a chronic condition workshop.

Your Rights At Work - For people living with chronic musculoskeletal conditions

This new seminar will provide an overview for people in the workforce with musculoskeletal conditions about the types of issues they may encounter in the work place. Some of the topics covered include:

• Workplace discrimination
• Superannuation and insurance
• Centrelink entitlements.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences and obtain relevant resources.
